First Steps

Norri is not yet released. These instructions are a preview of the setup process.

After installing Norri, follow these steps to get your media server up and running.

1. Create Your Admin Account

When you first access Norri, you’ll be prompted to create an administrator account. This account has full access to all settings and media.

Tip

Use a strong, unique password for your admin account, especially if you plan to enable remote access.

2. Add Your Media Libraries

Navigate to Settings → Libraries and click Add Library.

For each library, you’ll need to:

  1. Choose a library type (Movies, TV Shows, Music, etc.)
  2. Select the folder containing your media
  3. Configure metadata sources
  4. Start the initial scan

3. Configure Users

If you’re sharing Norri with family members, create user accounts for each person:

  1. Go to Settings → Users
  2. Click Add User
  3. Set their permissions and library access

4. Choose Where You Will Watch

Norri works through your server’s web interface, so you can start by opening the server address in a browser on your home network. When dedicated TV apps are available for your device, use the matching app for a living-room playback experience.
