Browsing Libraries

Each library in Norri has its own browsing page. Open a library from the sidebar to view, sort, and filter your collection.

View Modes

Toggle between two layouts using the buttons in the top-right corner:

  • Grid view: poster artwork in a responsive grid. This is the default.
  • List view: a compact list with smaller thumbnails and metadata side by side.

Sections

The tabs at the top of the page change depending on library type:

Library TypeTabs
MoviesAll, Collections, Genres, Recommended
TV ShowsAll, Collections, Genres, Recommended
MusicAlbums, Artists, Tracks, Genres

Music Library Views

Music libraries have three browsing modes:

  • Albums: a grid of album covers showing title, artist, and year.
  • Artists: a grid of artist photos showing the artist name.
  • Tracks: a list of individual tracks with title, artist, album, and duration.

Each view has its own sorting options. You can sort albums by release date while sorting artists by name, for example.

Sorting

Click the sort dropdown to choose how items are ordered. Available fields depend on the content type:

Content TypeSort Options
MoviesTitle, Release Date, Popularity, Date Added
TV ShowsTitle, Air Date, Popularity, Date Added
Music AlbumsTitle, Release Date, Year, Date Added
Music ArtistsName, Date Added
Music TracksTitle, Release Date, Date Added

Click the arrow icon next to the dropdown to switch between ascending and descending order.

Filtering

Click the filter button to see available filters. Active filters show a count badge on the button.

The Needs Review filter (admin only) surfaces items that were matched with low confidence during a library scan and may need metadata correction.

Click Clear all filters to reset.

A-Z Index

When sorting alphabetically with enough items to scroll through, an alphabetical index appears along the right edge. Click or drag through the letters to jump to that part of the library.

Item Cards

Each card in the grid shows:

  • Artwork: movie/TV poster (2
    ratio) or album cover (1
    ratio)
  • Title and optional subtitle (year, artist name)
  • Watch progress: for movies and TV, a progress bar on the poster indicates partially watched items, and full color indicates fully watched items

Click any card to open its detail page.

Performance

Libraries use virtual scrolling to handle large collections. Items load as you scroll, so even a library with thousands of entries stays responsive.
