Issue Tracker

Norri’s issue tracker at issues.norri.tv is where you can report bugs, suggest features, and follow along as things get built. Everything is public, so you can browse without an account, but you’ll need to sign up if you want to participate.

Browsing Issues

The main page shows all open issues. Each one displays its type (Bug or Feature), current status, vote count, and who reported it.

You can narrow things down with the filters at the top of the page:

  • Search by keyword in the title
  • Type filter to show only bugs or only feature requests
  • Status filter to show issues in a specific state (Open, In Progress, etc.)

These filters work together, so you can search for “transcoding” and filter to bugs that are currently In Progress.

Creating an Account

To report issues, vote, comment, or subscribe to updates, you need an account. Click Sign in to report on the issues page, then choose Create an account.

You’ll need:

  1. An email address (never displayed publicly)
  2. A display name (shown on your issues and comments)
  3. A password

The signup page suggests random display names if you don’t want to use your real name. Hit the refresh button next to the suggestions to get new ones.

Note

This account is only for the issue tracker. You don’t need a norri.tv account to use the Norri media server, and you never will.

Reporting a Bug

Click New Issue from the issues page (or Sign in to report if you’re not logged in yet).

  1. Set the type to Bug
  2. Give it a clear, specific title
  3. Describe what happened in the description field

Good bug reports include:

  • What you were doing when the problem occurred
  • What you expected to happen
  • What actually happened
  • Your Norri version and platform (if relevant)

As you type the title, the tracker checks for similar existing issues. If someone already reported the same bug, you can upvote theirs instead of creating a duplicate.

Requesting a Feature

Same process as a bug report, but set the type to Feature. Describe what you’d like Norri to do and why it would be useful. The more context you give, the easier it is to evaluate.

Upvoting

Every issue has a thumbs-up button with a vote count. Click it to add your vote. This helps prioritize what gets worked on next. You need to be signed in to vote.

Upvoting an existing issue is better than creating a duplicate. If you find an issue that matches what you were about to report, vote for it and add a comment with any extra details.

Subscribing to Updates

On any issue’s detail page, click the Subscribe button to get email notifications when something changes. You’ll be notified when:

  • The issue’s status changes (for example, from Open to In Progress)
  • Someone posts a new comment

Click Subscribed again to unsubscribe. You’re automatically subscribed to issues you create.

Commenting

Below each issue is a comment section. If you’re signed in, you’ll see a text field where you can add your thoughts, ask questions, or provide additional information.

Comments from the Norri development team are marked with a Dev badge so you can easily spot official responses.

Editing Your Issues

You can edit issues you’ve created. Open the issue and click Edit next to the title. This lets you update the title and description if you need to add more detail or correct something.

Issue Statuses

Issues move through different statuses depending on their type.

Click your display name in the navigation to access account settings. From here you can:

  • Change your display name to update how you appear on issues and comments
  • Change your password or reset it via email

Deleting Your Account

If you want to delete your account, go to account settings and click Delete account in the danger zone at the bottom. You’ll need to type delete my account to confirm.

When you delete your account:

  • Your email and profile are permanently removed
  • Issues and comments you created stay up, but your display name is removed from them
  • Your upvotes are preserved

This cannot be undone.
